Mayor of Yancheng in Jiangsu Province paid a visit to HKUST BDIOn February 28, 2019, a delegation led by Mr. CAO Lubao, Mayor of Yancheng Municipal People’s Government, visited HKUST. Mr. Cao was accompanied by GUO Yusheng, Secretary General of Yancheng Government, KONG Yixin, Deputy Secretary General of Yancheng Government; DONG Lingling, Director of Hong Kong and Macao Affairs Office of Yancheng as well as some other officers.
Professor CHEN Lei, Acting Director of BDI, welcomed the guests to BDI Lab. During the visit, Prof. Chen introduced BDI’s latest research projects and showcased the cutting-edge technologies and applications developed.
Mr. Cao was an HKUST EMBA alumnus. He was happy to come back to his alma mater again. Mr. Cao showed great interest in BDI’s advanced research. He sincerely invited Prof. Chen to visit Yancheng and further discuss potential collaboration to develop big data technologies and applications for the city.
After the visit to BDI, Mr. Cao and the delegation had a meeting with Mr. Andrew LIAO Cheung-Sing, Council Chairman of HKUST, Professor Wei SHYY, President of HKUST, Professor WANG Yang, Associate Director of BDI, and other HKUST professors. This meeting was a great opportunity for interaction and exchange between the two parties.
